University, school and library relocation in the UAE
GI Movers plans and carries out moves for universities, schools and libraries across Abu Dhabi and Dubai. We move books, archives, lab and IT equipment, and classroom and office furniture, and we schedule the work around the academic calendar.
Library moves, in shelf order
- Every shelf is coded before packing, so collections go back in the same order
- Books travel in book cartons or trolleys, never overfilled boxes
- Rare or fragile items are packed separately and logged
- Shelving is dismantled, moved and reinstalled, including mobile shelving
Campus and school moves
- Classrooms, offices, staff rooms and stores
- IT equipment, servers and AV, packed and labelled by room
- Lab equipment moved in agreed steps with the lab staff
- Old furniture removed and disposed of on request
How we plan it
- Site survey and a room-by-room inventory
- A written move plan with dates, phases and a named team leader
- Labels and floor plans for every room at the new site
- The move, often over weekends or holidays, so teaching is not disrupted
- A walk-through with your team to sign off each area
If the new building is not ready
We can store books, files and furniture in our storage facility until the new site is ready.
